Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hem. We are thrilled to show off a new and improved version of ourselves.

For the finalization of the Hem New York Studio, we commissioned design studio Chen Chen & Kai Williams to create a dedicated sculpture for the space — The Phalanx.

Our new home in Soho will showcase the brand’s collections in a creative setting alongside a site-specific sculptural installation by Brooklyn-based designers Chen & Kai.

We took a journey to a remote industrial estate on the outskirts of Padua, in the north east of Italy, to visit the birthplace of the new Max Table, designed by Max Lamb for Hem.

There is a secret that sits at the heart of the Norwegian Olympic skiing town of Lillehammer — an old textiles mill that has the design world clamouring to cover its furniture, Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik.
